June 7, 2005 – On May 14th, as part of that weekend Cruisin 2005 event, judges crowned Melissa E. May, from Harriman, Tennessee, Tennessee’s 2005 Miss Polk Salad. The pageant was held outside the historic Princess Theatre, located in Historical Downtown Harriman. Fran
Pucket, Director of nursing for Roane Medical Center, served as hostess for the event, while Harriman City Councilman Lonnie Wright crowned Miss May at the end of the pageant.
Other contestants in this year’s event were Diana Crabtree- from Harriman, TN, Stefanie Rae Day- from Rockwood, TN, and Candace Brooke Oran- from Kingston, TN.
Musical entertainment was provided by local bluegrass band members Joseph Manis, Jay Tipton, Tony Brewer, and performing with the band Katrina Poland.
Starting June 11th, the newly crowned 2005 Miss Polk Salad will be appearing at each of the remaining 2005 Cruisin events. She will be signing free autographed photos outside the Princess Theatre, locate in Historic downtown Harriman, staring at 5 P.M. (EST). The remaining dates for this year’s Cruisin events are June 11th, July 9th, and August 13th.
April 4, 2005 - The 2005 Miss Polk Salad Pageant will be held on May 14th at 5:00 PM est; during the May Cruisin car show.
The dates of the this year's Cruisin Card-Shows are: April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, and August the 13th. All Cruisin events will be held in historic Downtown Harriman, TN. Show hours will be from 4pm to 8:30pm est; streets will be closing will be at 3pm est.
There will be fun, vendors, food, and door prize drawings for registered cars each month.
August 5, 2004 - Tennessee's first Miss Polk Salad will be appearing August 14th at Cruisin' 2004 and at the Hurrah for Harriman Labor festivities on September 6th. Miss Polk Salad will be autographing photos.

April 21, 2004 - On Saturday May 8th the crowning of Tennessee's first Ms. Polk Salad will be held at the Cruisin' 2004 car show.
Cruisin' 2004 is a nonjudged event open to all antique and classic show cars and trucks as well as muscle cars, street rods, and highly modified late models. This event offers you the opportunity to meet and enjoy being with other car enthusiasts reminiscing about the cars on display.
At Cruisin' 2004, you will find a relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere with great music throughout the downtown area. We encourage you and your friends to bring lawn chairs and sit by the street to watch the hundreds of beautiful shows cards as they enter the show area.
The event will be held in historic downtown Harriman and will run from 2pm to 8pm. Admission is free!.

April 20, 2004 - The launch of the Tennessee Polk Salad Association website.
Plans currently underway to hold a annual Polk Salad Association event, the dates and times of the events will be posted at a later time.
